Description
DURAN® Erlenmeyer flask, wide neck, 500 ml is a conical laboratory flask made from borosilicate glass 3.3. The original DURAN® Erlenmeyer flasks are predestined for laboratory use thanks to very good chemical resistance, nearly inert behaviour and a high working temperature. Uniform wall-thickness distribution produces minimal thermal expansion and high thermal-shock resistance, so the flasks are especially suitable for work at very high temperatures and rapid temperature changes. The wide neck permits comfortable filling and cleaning, while the conical shape facilitates mixing of contents. An easily readable scale with line graduation supports volume measurement; the white printed scale is fired in and therefore permanently durable. Typical applications include cultivation, storage and transport, mixing of several components, heating, dilution of solutions and measuring liquid quantities. Supplied as 1 pc with a nominal volume of 0,5 l and a net weight of 0,18 kg from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences, this wide-neck flask offers reliable performance for everyday laboratory workflows requiring chemical durability and thermal stability.

Questions about DURAN® Erlenmeyer Flask, wide neck
What is this article?
DURAN® Erlenmeyer Flask, wide neck is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Erlenmeyer flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.
An Erlenmeyer, or conical, flask has a flat base and a narrowing wall so a liquid can be swirled. It is the ordinary culture and titration flask. A baffled wall is a different article, used when the swirl must turn the liquid over.
A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
