Description
DURAN® filter flask with side tubulature in Erlenmeyer shape is a 1000 ml (1 l) laboratory vessel made of borosilicate glass 3.3. It functions as the filtrate collection flask during vacuum filtration and is built with substantial wall thickness for reliable vacuum service. Vacuum is applied via the side connection (tubulature, glass olive or plastic olive), while the wide neck opening accepts a rubber sleeve together with a Büchner or filter funnel. Flasks of this capacity class (≤ 2000 ml) are supplied in the practical Erlenmeyer form. The side-tubulature design simplifies preparative and analytical laboratory work and simultaneously reduces accident risk. These vacuum-resistant flasks from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences meet the requirements of the Equipment and Product Safety Act; the white printed scale is fired on and therefore permanently durable. Typical applications include aspiration of liquids, vacuum filtration, filtration under reduced pressure and safe working under vacuum. Supplied as a single piece with a net weight of 0,77 kg.

Questions about DURAN® Filtering Flask, with side-arm socket, Erlenmeyer shape
What is this article?
DURAN® Filtering Flask, with side-arm socket, Erlenmeyer shape is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Erlenmeyer flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.
An Erlenmeyer, or conical, flask has a flat base and a narrowing wall so a liquid can be swirled. It is the ordinary culture and titration flask. A baffled wall is a different article, used when the swirl must turn the liquid over.
A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
