Description
DURAN® flat flange lid with four standard ground joint necks forms the upper component of a modular flat-flange reaction vessel system. Fabricated from borosilicate glass 3.3 in DN 60, the lid features one central neck NS 29/32 together with three angled side necks (two NS 19/26 and one NS 14/23). When paired with a matching flat-flange base and secured by a clamping ring, the assembly creates a large-volume reaction vessel that serves as a versatile alternative to conventional round-bottom flasks. A gasket or ground-joint grease prevents seizing of the sealing faces, while the standard ground joints enable straightforward connection of dropping funnels, stirrer shafts and other accessories. Geometry and robust wall thickness confer pressure and vacuum resistance, supporting safe operation under demanding conditions. The lid is intended for chemically and thermally challenging preparative work such as reactions, distillations, evaporations and drying of solid or viscous substances. At a maximum application temperature of 250 °C under the permissible operating overpressure the temperature difference within the glass wall must not exceed 30 °C. This precision component from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences integrates reliably into flat-flange reaction set-ups for laboratory-scale processing.

Questions about DURAN® Flat Flange Lid, 4 standard ground necks (3 angled side and 1 center)
What is this article?
DURAN® Flat Flange Lid, 4 standard ground necks (3 angled side and 1 center) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Reaction vessels & jacketed vessels, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.
A reaction vessel is the flask a synthesis actually runs in, sometimes jacketed so a fluid can heat or cool the wall. The joints, the working volume and the jacket connections are the specification. It is not a storage bottle.
A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
