Description
DURAN® three-neck round-bottom flask with standard ground joints (NS) provides a centre neck NS 24/29 and two parallel vertical side necks NS 19/26 at a nominal volume of 250 ml. Fabricated from borosilicate glass 3.3, the flask is intended for distillation, fractionation and reaction work where condensers, columns, thermometers, dropping funnels or boiling capillaries can be fitted as required. Vertical side necks and the flask geometry enable very uniform heating in heating baths or heating mantles. Precision standard ground joints deliver a tight seal, and the white printed marking is fired into the glass for lasting durability. This multi-neck vessel from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences also supports extraction, connection to further laboratory glassware and general heating operations. It is supplied as a single piece. Multi-neck round-bottom flasks of this design are widely used in preparative and synthetic laboratory setups that demand flexible accessory mounting. The 250 ml size with the NS 24/29 centre-joint combination is not manufactured according to DIN ISO. Net weight is 0,134 kg.
This article is part of Round-bottom flasks, in Beakers & flasks. See also Flat-bottom flasks.

Questions about DURAN® Triple-Neck Round Bottom Flask, standard ground joint, parallel side neck
What is this article?
DURAN® Triple-Neck Round Bottom Flask, standard ground joint, parallel side neck is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.
A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.
A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
