Description

DURAN® two-neck round-bottom flask with standard ground joints combines a centre neck NS 29/32 and an angled side neck NS 14/23 at a nominal volume of 250 ml. Fabricated from borosilicate glass 3.3, the vessel offers the chemical resistance and thermal stability required for routine laboratory work. Multi-neck flasks of this type are preferred for distillation, fractionation and reaction setups because adapters, columns, thermometers, dropping funnels or boiling capillaries can be fitted as needed while maintaining a tight seal through the precision ground joints. The rounded geometry supports very uniform heating when the flask is used in heating baths or heating mantles. A permanently fired white print ensures durable volume and joint identification. Suitable applications include distillation, extraction, connection to further glass apparatus and controlled heating. This flask from manufacturer Duran/DWK Life Sciences is supplied as a single piece and is well suited to preparative organic and analytical workflows that demand reliable multi-port access.

Questions about DURAN® Twin-Neck Round Bottom Flask, standard ground joint, angled side neck

What is this article?

DURAN® Twin-Neck Round Bottom Flask, standard ground joint, angled side neck is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes DWK Life Sciences for laboratory use. It sits in Round-bottom flasks, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A round-bottom flask is the heating flask of a distillation or a reflux. The curved wall takes the heat, and the ground neck connects to a still head or a condenser. The joint size, not only the volume, has to match the rest of the set.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
