Description
VitraPOR® filter plate, biplane, is a precision glass filtration disc in borosilicate 3.3 with a diameter of 220 mm, porosity grade 2 and a defined thickness of 15,0 mm ± 0,5 mm. Both faces are ground to provide exact thickness and a plane-parallel surface, enabling even media distribution and secure fit in laboratory filter setups. The robust borosilicate glass body offers broad chemical resistance for aqueous and many solvent-based separations in research and process laboratories. Offered as one piece from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, the plate is designed for holders, funnels and glassware systems that specify porosity 2 at this large diameter. Ground, plan-parallel faces support reproducible mounting and dimensional stability under normal laboratory use. Suitable for clarification, solid–liquid separation and apparatus construction where a durable VitraPOR® glass filter plate with controlled pore grade and tight thickness tolerance is required.

Questions about Filter Disc, bi-plane, 220 mm, Por. 2 Thickness 15.0 mm ± 0.5 mm
What is this article?
Filter Disc, bi-plane, 220 mm, Por. 2 Thickness 15.0 mm ± 0.5 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
