Description

Filter plate, biplanar, 270 mm, Por. 1, thickness 18,0 mm ± 0,5 mm is a VitraPOR® glass filter plate manufactured from borosilicate 3.3. The disc measures 270 mm in diameter, carries porosity grade 1 and is produced to a thickness of 18,0 mm within a tolerance of ± 0,5 mm. Surfaces are ground so that the plate presents exact thickness and a plane-parallel finish, which supports even seating and reproducible filtration geometry. Its biplanar format delivers flat, parallel faces on both sides. Available as one piece from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon, this VitraPOR® filter plate is intended for laboratory and technical filtration work requiring a durable borosilicate glass medium with controlled porosity and dimensional accuracy. The ground, plane-parallel surfaces aid consistent alignment in filter assemblies or custom laboratory apparatus. Combining a large 270 mm diameter, porosity 1 and tightly specified thickness, the plate is suited to setups that need a large-format glass frit of defined geometry. Pack size is one piece.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, bi-plane, 270 mm, Por. 1 Thickness 18.0 mm ± 0.5 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
