Description

VitraPOR® glass filter plate, 280 mm, porosity 2, is a sintered disc made from borosilicate glass 3.3 for laboratory and apparatus filtration assemblies. The round, centred plate has a diameter of 280 mm and a nominal thickness of 26,0 mm with a tolerance of ± 6,0 mm; the surface is untreated so the open frit structure remains available for filtration. Porosity grade 2 provides a defined medium pore range suitable for chemical synthesis support, preparative work and custom glassware construction. Supplied as a single piece, this filter plate from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon integrates into filter holders, process setups and VitraPOR®-compatible apparatus where the chemical resistance and thermal behaviour of borosilicate 3.3 are required. The large-diameter disc geometry suits installations that need a robust porosity-2 frit with controlled dimensions. It is intended for laboratory use in research and industrial environments that build or maintain filtration systems around a 280 mm sintered glass plate of consistent grade and thickness.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Filter Disc, centered, 280 mm, Por. 2 Thickness 26 mm ± 6.0 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
