Description
GS2-E pH insertion electrode for GroStar GS2 is a dedicated replacement electrode enabling direct pH and temperature measurement in soil, coco coir, rockwool and many other growing media as well as nutrient solutions, without the need to prepare soil slurries. Its LabSen® S-type pointed glass membrane is approximately ten times stronger than conventional glass electrodes, delivering high impact resistance for repeated insertion work. A PTFE ring protects the diaphragm from blockage by soil particles and thereby extends service life and reliability. The Ag/AgCl reference system with gel KCl electrolyte supports accurate readings across the full pH range of 0 to 14. An integrated 30 kΩ thermistor provides simultaneous temperature measurement from 0 to 50 °C. The polycarbonate housing measures 140 × 50 × 60 mm and the electrode attaches quickly without tools. Compatible with GroStar™ GS1, GS2 and GS4 meters from manufacturer APERA Instruments, it is supplied with a 12-month manufacturer warranty for laboratory and horticultural use.

Questions about GS2-E Spear pH Electrode for GroStar GS2
What is this article?
GS2-E Spear pH Electrode for GroStar GS2 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.
A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
