Description

HPM D2B is a binocular light microscope configured with semiplan high-resolution objectives 4x, 10x, 40x and 60x for routine laboratory observation. The 30° inclined binocular head rotates through 360° and is fitted with WFP 10x/20 mm eyepieces with foldable eyecups. Magnifications of 40x, 100x, 400x and 600x are achieved; the 40x and 60x objectives include spring-loaded specimen protection. A 140 x 155 mm stage with integrated coaxial mechanical stage and ergonomically placed controls supports precise specimen positioning. The centreable Abbe condenser (NA 1,25) offers an iris diaphragm, filter holder and height adjustment. New-generation 3 W LED illumination with Köhler iris diaphragm provides continuously variable intensity via potentiometer, comparable to a 30 W halogen lamp, with an LED service life of approximately 50 000 hours. Supplied as 1 pc complete with dust cover, power cable and operating manual, this Windaus instrument suits brightfield work in teaching, quality control and research laboratories. Further accessories are described in the manufacturer literature.

Questions about HPM D2B

What is this article?

HPM D2B is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Windaus for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope objectives, eyepieces & optics, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

An objective makes the resolution. Magnification and numerical aperture are the two numbers, and the tube length or the infinity correction has to match the microscope. An eyepiece mostly enlarges the image the objective already resolved. A mismatched objective does not become sharper by zooming.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
