Description

HPM D2M is a monocular laboratory light microscope configured with semi-plan, high-resolution objectives 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x, delivering useful magnifications of 40x, 100x, 400x and 1000x. The 30° inclined monocular tube features a 360° rotatable head and a wide-field WFP 10x/20 mm eyepiece with foldable eyecups for comfortable extended viewing. Objectives at 40x and 100x incorporate spring-loaded specimen protection to reduce the risk of slide damage during focusing.

This article is part of Microscope objectives, eyepieces & optics, in Microscopy & histology.

A 140 x 155 mm stage with integrated coaxial mechanical stage and ergonomically placed controls supports precise specimen positioning. The centerable Abbe condenser (NA 1,25) includes an iris diaphragm and filter holder and is height-adjustable for flexible illumination control. New-generation 3 W LED illumination with Köhler iris diaphragm provides continuously variable intensity via potentiometer, comparable to a 30 W halogen lamp, with an LED service life of approximately 50,000 hours. Supplied from manufacturer Windaus complete with dust cover, power cable and operating instructions, this HPM D2M unit suits routine brightfield work in teaching, quality control and research laboratories. Further accessories are available on request.

Questions about HPM D2M

What is this article?

HPM D2M is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Windaus for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope objectives, eyepieces & optics, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

An objective makes the resolution. Magnification and numerical aperture are the two numbers, and the tube length or the infinity correction has to match the microscope. An eyepiece mostly enlarges the image the objective already resolved. A mismatched objective does not become sharper by zooming.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
