Description

KS 4000 i control is an incubation shaker designed for unattended operation in a temperature-controlled environment. Its innovative layout supports reliable shaking and incubation workflows in the laboratory. A large LED display shows speed and time settings clearly, while the control elements carry an antimicrobial coating to help reduce microbial contamination. Integrated PID temperature regulation uses two PT 1000 temperature sensors, and a connection socket inside the working chamber accepts an additional temperature probe such as the PT 1000.60 supplied with the unit. Temperature and speed are controlled electronically, and an electronic timer covers the range from 0 to 999 h with minute or hour setting. The instrument switches off automatically in the event of a fault and stops when the hood is opened. A collecting tray with drain hose at the rear simplifies cleanup after use. All functions can be controlled and documented with labworldsoft® software. Attachments are not included and must be ordered separately. This incubation shaker from manufacturer IKA is supplied as one complete unit.

This article is part of Sieve shakers, in Test sieves & mills.

Questions about KS 4000 i control, Incubator shaker

What is this article?

KS 4000 i control, Incubator shaker is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Sieve shakers, inside Test sieves & mills, in Lab instruments.

A sieve shaker repeats a throw so a particle-size test does not depend on who shook the stack. The amplitude, the timer and the frame diameter it accepts are the specification. A shaker for 200 mm frames does not hold a 300 mm stack.

A test sieve sorts particles by whether they pass an opening. Wire mesh and perforated plate are two ways of making that opening, and the nominal size is not a suggestion. A sieve shaker repeats the motion so the result does not depend on how hard someone shook by hand. A mill or grinder makes the particles smaller before they are sieved. The certificate of the sieve, and the opening size, are what an audit asks for. Measurement practice around mass and dimension sits with the BIPM, EURAMET and BELAC.
