Description

LabHEAT® unheated insulating hood KM-IRU is intended for 6,000 ml round-bottom flasks with a diameter of 236 mm. It compensates for heat losses on the upper half of the flask during laboratory work. The hood is glass-silk insulated and finished with an aluminium-coated outer jacket. Net weight is 4,5 kg and gross weight is 5,3 kg; the unit is supplied as one piece. This KM-IRU insulating hood from manufacturer ISOHEAT/SAF Wärmetechnik matches 6,000 ml round-bottom flasks of 236 mm diameter and covers the upper flask section only. Glass-silk insulation forms the thermal layer against the glassware, while the aluminium-coated outer mantle completes the exterior construction. The design contains no heating elements and serves a purely insulating function. Laboratories using 6,000 ml round-bottom flasks can place the hood on the upper vessel half to address heat loss away from the heated zone. Pack configuration is one piece, with the stated net and gross weights supporting handling and storage. Construction, flask volume and diameter follow the LabHEAT® KM-IRU specification for this size.

Questions about LabHEAT® Insulating mantle unheated KM-IRU3, 6000 ml

What is this article?

LabHEAT® Insulating mantle unheated KM-IRU3, 6000 ml is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ISOHEAT/SAF Wärmetechnik for laboratory use. It sits in Temperature control accessories, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.

Temperature-control accessories are the probes, the lids, the racks and the fluids that complete a bath or a circulator. A lid is what keeps a water bath from evaporating away. The fluid's flash point is part of the choice.

Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
