Description
LAUDA Alpha RA 8 cooling thermostat is a bath and circulation thermostat with integrated refrigeration for laboratory temperature control from −25 to 100 °C under ambient conditions of 5 to 40 °C. A one-line LED display shows actual or setpoint values, while menu guidance, three-button operation and a fully electronic continuous controller keep handling simple. Low-level and overtemperature protection support non-flammable liquids, with acoustic and visual alarms. The circulation pump includes flow reduction; the stainless-steel bath vessel, rear drain connection and air-cooled condenser complete the design. Intelligent compressor automation reduces energy use, and the non-flammable HFC refrigerant complies with F-Gas Regulation (EU) 573/2024. According to DIN 12876, temperature constancy is ±0,05 K, heating capacity reaches 1,5 kW, maximum power draw is 1,8 kW at 8 A, pump pressure is 0,2 bar and pressure flow is 15 L/min. Bath volume is 5,0 to 7,5 L; overall dimensions are 235 × 500 × 605 mm at 29 kg. Cooling capacity with ethanol is 0,225 kW at 20 °C, 0,16 kW at 0 °C and 0,08 kW at −20 °C. Mains supply is 220 V; 60 Hz and 230 V; 50 Hz (CEE7/7). Standard accessories include bath lid, pump connection set and short-circuit hose. This cooling thermostat from manufacturer Lauda serves refrigerated circulating applications.

What is this article?
LAUDA Alpha RA 8 Cooling thermostat 220 V; 60 Hz + 230 V; 50 Hz is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Lauda for laboratory use. It sits in Circulators, chillers & thermostats, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.
A circulator or thermostat holds a bath liquid at a set temperature and pumps it through a jacket. A chiller is the same idea aimed below ambient. The temperature range, the cooling power and the pump flow are the three numbers. The fluid has to match the range.
Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
