Description

Minisart® HY syringe filter 16596--------HYQ with 0,2 µm hydrophobic PTFE membrane is designed for venting and for filtration of gases and oils across pH 3–12. The chemically inert PTFE membrane of type 16596 can be employed for sterile filtration and is equipped with a Luer Lock outlet. This HYQ version is supplied non-sterile in bags; individual units may subsequently be EO sterilized. Available in packs of 500 pieces from manufacturer Sartorius, the format suits higher-volume laboratory requirements. Net weight is 2,650 kg. The hydrophobic PTFE construction delivers dependable performance with gas streams and selected non-aqueous media while resisting wetting. Restricted to the EU/EEA and registered countries, the filter offers a practical disposable solution for air, gas and compatible liquid handling. Its defined pore size and chemical resistance support consistent results in routine syringe filtration and venting applications within controlled scientific workflows.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

Questions about MinisartPTFE;0.2 µm;26mm;nsterile;500

What is this article?

MinisartPTFE;0.2 µm;26mm;nsterile;500 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
