Description

Minisart® SRP15 syringe filter with 0,2 µm hydrophobic PTFE membrane is a chemically inert device suited to venting applications and the filtration of aggressive solvents across the pH range 1 to 14. The 15 mm diameter unit is equipped with a male slip outlet and supports both sample preparation and sterile filtration in routine laboratory workflows. Supplied non-sterile and bag-packed as version Q, individual filters from manufacturer Sartorius can be sterilised by the user via autoclave or ethylene oxide treatment. The polytetrafluoroethylene membrane offers broad chemical resistance, enabling reliable clarification of organic solvents and corrosive media commonly handled in analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical development and quality-control settings. Hydrophobic PTFE is particularly effective for gas and air passage without aqueous wetting, making the filter well suited to venting setups as well as solvent preparation steps. A convenient pack of 500 pieces provides bulk availability for high-throughput laboratories that require consistent particle retention and chemical compatibility in daily filtration tasks.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

Questions about MinisartPTFE;0.2m;15mm;nsterile;50

What is this article?

MinisartPTFE;0.2m;15mm;nsterile;50 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
