Description

MultiDrive BT 250.5 mixing beaker is an autoclavable plastic vessel with stainless steel beater, supplied complete with TS 1 and optimised for wet grinding on the MultiDrive control universal mill. The transparent plastic construction permits continuous observation of sample changes throughout the process. An integrated RFID chip stores and simultaneously limits the service life of the mixing beaker. Five spare seals are included in the delivery; exchanging the seal extends the usable life of each beaker. Product-contacting materials are stainless steel, PA, PC, PTFE and silicone. Maximum useful volume reaches 250 ml with a maximum feed size of 10 mm at up to 5 Mohs. Autoclaving effectively minimises cross-contamination between samples, and the beakers are FDA-conformant. Supplied as five beakers per pack from manufacturer IKA, the BT 250.5 set may be operated only together with the TC 1 protective housing for safety reasons; if TC 1 is not connected, the MultiDrive unit cannot be started. TC 1 is available separately as an accessory for the MultiDrive system.

What is this article?

MultiDrive BT 250.5, Blending tube, autoclavable, 250 ml (incl. TS 1) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Beakers, inside Beakers & flasks, in Labware.

A beaker is an open, straight-sided working vessel with a spout. It is for dissolving, heating and pouring. The graduations are a guide, not a volumetric calibration. Low form and tall form differ in stability and in how easily a liquid splashes.

A beaker is an open working vessel: easy to pour, poor as a measure. An Erlenmeyer flask has a flat base and a conical wall so a liquid can be swirled without climbing out. A round-bottom flask is for heating under a condenser, because the heat meets a curved wall and the joint at the neck connects to the rest of the glassware. Borosilicate is the glass that survives the temperature change. These forms are listed under ISO laboratory glassware.
