Description

Nalgene™ PPCO centrifuge bottles are round laboratory vessels designed for biopharmaceutical aseptic liquid transfers and sampling. Manufactured from translucent polypropylene copolymer (PPCO), each bottle offers a nominal capacity of 250 ml (0,25 l) and is supplied with a polypropylene screw closure. The three-sided flange supports secure handling during transfers. These bottles withstand centrifugal forces up to 13.200 × g, and up to 27.500 × g when used with a sealing closure unit. They are fully autoclavable, making them suitable for sterile workflows in research and production environments. Graduations are not present, and dispensing through the closure is not supported. Available from manufacturer Thermo Scientific – Laboratory Plastics in convenient multi-packs, the bottles combine chemical resistance with robust mechanical performance. Ideal for sample preparation, clarification and intermediate storage steps where reliable containment under high g-forces is required. The translucent material allows visual inspection of contents while maintaining the durability expected of PPCO labware.

Questions about Nalgene™ PPCO Centrifuge Bottles

What is this article?

Nalgene™ PPCO Centrifuge Bottles is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Centrifuge accessories, inside Centrifuges, in Lab instruments.

Centrifuge accessories are the cups, the lids, the bottles and the spare seals named for a particular rotor. A lid that does not lock lets a tube leave the bucket. Aerosol-tight lids are a stated feature, not an assumption.

A centrifuge separates by density. The rotor spins the sample and the force is reported as a multiple of gravity, not as a raw speed, because the same revolutions per minute are a different force at a different radius. A microcentrifuge takes small tubes. A benchtop or floor model takes larger rotors. The tube, the adapter and the rotor have to be the combination the manufacturer rated. An unbalanced load is how centrifuges fail. Measurement of the related quantities sits with the BIPM.
