Description

PES membrane with a 10.000 MWCO rating and 76 mm diameter is a polyethersulfone ultrafiltration disc for laboratory separation of macromolecules. Supplied in a pack of 10 pieces, it is compatible with traditional and legacy stirred cells and is recommended for custom applications. Flexible options suit ultrafiltration (UF) and diafiltration (DF) of most macromolecules. Popular applications include concentration and protein removal (UF), buffer exchange and desalting (DF), and electroultrafiltration (EUF). These discs from manufacturer Sartorius carry the Hydrosart® registered trademark and support routine concentration as well as protein-removal workflows. The pack net weight is 0,059 kg and the gross weight is 0,060 kg. Non-sterile PES discs in the 76 mm format fit common stirred-cell geometries and let users match molecular weight cut-off to the target species. Appropriate MWCO selection helps retain larger macromolecules while allowing salts and smaller solutes to pass during concentration or buffer-exchange steps, giving a practical filtration area for everyday laboratory volumes.

This article is part of Ultrafiltration & concentrators, in Filtration.

Questions about Ultrafilter, 10kDa PES, 76mm, 10pc

What is this article?

Ultrafilter, 10kDa PES, 76mm, 10pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrafiltration & concentrators, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

An ultrafiltration device holds back macromolecules above a stated molecular-weight cutoff and passes salts and water. It concentrates a protein or exchanges its buffer. The cutoff, the volume and whether it is a centrifugal device or a stirred cell are the specification. A 0.2 µm syringe filter does not do this.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
