Description
PULVERISETTE 29 mini cutting mill is engineered for rapid, reproducible comminution of medium-hard, soft, brittle, tough, fibrous, viscoelastic and temperature-sensitive materials such as cereals, seeds, plastics and other low-density substances. With a maximum feed size of 25 mm, the instrument achieves final fineness between 0,25 mm and 6 mm depending on the selected sieve insert. Variable rotor speed adjustable from 500 to 6000 rpm generates as many as 48.000 cutting actions per minute, enabling precise adaptation of the grinding process to every individual sample. Progressive cutting geometry between the rotor knives and the fixed counter knives in the grinding chamber automatically conveys the material onward while reducing it according to the scissor cutting principle. The sieve insert maintains a constant optimal distance to the rotor and virtually eliminates dead spaces, preventing material build-up. Rotor and stationary knives are rotatable for extended service life, and no cutting-gap adjustment is required. Smooth chamber walls together with simple knife insertion permit fast, thorough cleaning. Available from manufacturer Fritsch complete with feed hopper featuring slider, cutting rotor and a choice of trapezoidal or square perforated sieve inserts, this compact mill supports efficient laboratory sample preparation at 200–240 V single-phase, 50–60 Hz.

What is this article?
PULVERISETTE 29 Mini Cutting Mill 200 - 240 V/1~, 50-60 Hz, 500 - 6000 rpm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Fritsch for laboratory use. It sits in Mills, grinders & homogenisers, inside Test sieves & mills, in Lab instruments.
A mill, grinder or homogeniser reduces particle size or breaks a tissue before an extraction. The rotor and the sieve insert decide the result. A knife mill and a bead mill are different machines. The sample has to tolerate the heat the motor puts into it.
A test sieve sorts particles by whether they pass an opening. Wire mesh and perforated plate are two ways of making that opening, and the nominal size is not a suggestion. A sieve shaker repeats the motion so the result does not depend on how hard someone shook by hand. A mill or grinder makes the particles smaller before they are sieved. The certificate of the sieve, and the opening size, are what an audit asks for. Measurement practice around mass and dimension sits with the BIPM, EURAMET and BELAC.
