Description

qpore® membrane filters from cellulose mixed ester (CME) are hydrophilic, sterile discs with printed grid, a pore size of 0,22 µm and a diameter of 47 mm. The membrane is composed of cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate and offers a soft, uniform surface together with effective retention, high flow rates and thermal resistance up to a maximum working temperature of 90 °C. Membrane thickness is approximately 130 µm; the grid raster measures 3,1 × 3,1 mm and supports colony counting and spatial evaluation. Individually sterile packed in a unit of 100 pieces from manufacturer neolab - Labor, these filters suit clear and sterile filtration of liquids, air particle analysis, contamination assessment of fuels and hydraulic fluids, and biological applications including colony enumeration, cell harvesting and cell washing. Short wetting time and consistent performance make the gridded sterile CME format a versatile option for microbiological and analytical laboratory work.

This article is part of Membrane filters, in Filtration.

What is this article?

qpore® Membranfilter aus CME, mit Gitternetz, steril, 0.22 µm, Ø 47 mm, 100 Stk/ is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Membrane filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A membrane filter is the disc itself, without a syringe housing. Pore size, polymer and diameter are the specification, and the disc has to sit in a holder. Gridded membranes are for counting colonies. A membrane and a filter paper of the same diameter are not interchangeable.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
