Description

qpore® membrane filters in hydrophilic PVDF are non-sterile disc filters with a pore size of 0,45 µm and a diameter of 47 mm for laboratory liquid and gas clarification. Made from polyvinylidene fluoride, these membranes bind far less protein than nylon, PTFE or mixed cellulose ester filters and offer a very high flow rate relative to other membrane materials. Low protein- and active-ingredient-binding behaviour makes them well suited to life-science filtration, where sample recovery and filtrate integrity are critical. They are likewise suitable for clear filtration of air and other gases. Packs of 200 pieces from manufacturer neolab - Labor support routine sample preparation, buffer clarification and analytical workflows that benefit from rapid wetting and consistent throughput. The hydrophilic PVDF surface promotes even wetting with aqueous media, helping laboratories maintain efficient processing without unnecessary hold-up or adsorptive losses across general laboratory and life-science applications.

This article is part of Membrane filters, in Filtration.

Questions about qpore® Membranfilter, PVDF, unsteril, hydrophil, 0,45 µm, Ø 47 mm

What is this article?

qpore® Membranfilter, PVDF, unsteril, hydrophil, 0,45 µm, Ø 47 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Membrane filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A membrane filter is the disc itself, without a syringe housing. Pore size, polymer and diameter are the specification, and the disc has to sit in a holder. Gridded membranes are for counting colonies. A membrane and a filter paper of the same diameter are not interchangeable.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
