Description

VitraPOR® quartz glass filter plate is a biplanar disc fabricated from amorphous quartz glass, specified at 120 mm diameter, porosity grade 0 and 8,0 mm ± 0,2 mm thickness. As part of the Q series it features surfaces ground on both sides, delivering a consistent biplanar finish for secure fitment in laboratory filtration equipment. Amorphous quartz glass provides the inertness and temperature resistance needed for demanding chemical and analytical procedures. Porosity 0 is the coarsest standard frit designation, favouring higher flow rates while still retaining coarser particulates. The ± 0,2 mm thickness tolerance supports reproducible mounting and sealing in holders or custom glassware. Offered as a single piece, the plate is intended for filtration, support or gas-dispersion duties where a durable inorganic medium and precise dimensions are essential. This VitraPOR® component from manufacturer ROBU - Stereon combines the stated diameter, porosity and dual-ground surface preparation for laboratory material use cases that require reliable quartz frit plates without further surface treatments or coatings.

This article is part of Sintered glass filter plates & discs, in Filtration.

What is this article?

Quartz Glass Filter Disc, bi-plane, 90 mm, Por. 0 Thickness 8.0 mm ± 0.2 mm is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes ROBU - Stereon for laboratory use. It sits in Sintered glass filter plates & discs, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A sintered glass filter is a disc of fused glass particles with a porosity grade, often 0 to 5, from coarse to fine. It is cleaned and reused. The porosity number, not a micrometre guess, is the specification. Hydrofluoric acid and strong alkali attack the glass.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
