Description

neoChoice syringe filter with cellulose acetate (CA) membrane, 28 mm diameter and 0,45 µm pore size, is a sterile disposable unit for laboratory sample preparation. The hydrophilic CA membrane shows low protein binding and is well suited to sterile and clear filtration of aqueous solutions, culture media and buffers. Typical uses include particle removal, high-purity clean-up, prefiltration and sterile filtration of aqueous and organic solutions. Housings are precision-moulded from methyl acrylate-butadiene-styrene polymer (MBS), with a hold-up volume of 100 µl and an effective filtration area of 5,3 cm². Units are sterilised with ethylene oxide. These filters from manufacturer neolab - Labor combine robust construction with consistent membrane performance for routine analytical and preparative workflows. Supplied as a pack of 50 pieces, they support reliable clarification and sterile handling steps where low binding and defined pore size are required.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

Questions about neoChoice syringe filters, CA, D: 28 mm, sterile, pore size 0.45

What is this article?

neoChoice syringe filters, CA, D: 28 mm, sterile, pore size 0.45 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes neolab for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
