Description
Sterile PVDF vacuum filtration units with a nominal volume of 250 ml and a 0,22 µm pore size are designed for vacuum filtration of culture media and other biological fluids. The membrane is polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF); the receiver bottle, upper cup and lid are made of polyethersulfone (PES), and the central neck and stopper are polypropylene (PP). Units are sterilised by beta irradiation, tested pyrogen-free and supplied in individual bags for convenient aseptic use. Maximum working temperature is 45 °C. Offered by manufacturer Labbox, these ready-to-use assemblies support sterile clarification and media preparation where a fine 0,22 µm cut-off is required, without separate funnel-and-flask set-up. The pack of 12 sterile devices helps maintain continuous capacity in cell culture, microbiology and related life-science workflows. Net weight of the pack is 2,661 kg. A sterilisation certificate is available as a free download from the manufacturer documentation for quality records.

Questions about Sterile PVDF vacuum filtration units, 250 ml, 0,22 um
What is this article?
Sterile PVDF vacuum filtration units, 250 ml, 0,22 um is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Labbox for laboratory use. It sits in Bottle-top & vacuum filtration units, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.
A bottle-top filter or a vacuum filtration unit sits on a bottle and pulls a liquid through a membrane under vacuum. Pore size and membrane are the same choice as a syringe filter, at a larger area. A sterile unit is a stated claim. The bottle neck has to match.
Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
