Description

Syringe filter Micropur RC is a compact disposable filter with a hydrophilic regenerated cellulose membrane of 15 mm diameter and 0,20 µm pore size in a polypropylene housing. The RC membrane is suited to aqueous and organic–aqueous liquids, covering polar and medium-polar sample solutions, and shows low protein-binding capacity. Colour coding marks the unit yellow on top and blue underneath for quick identification. Inlet is Luer Lock and outlet is a minispike; the wheel-shaped PP housing encloses a filtration area of 4,91 cm² with a hold-up volume of 80 µl. Recommended sample volume is 1–5 mL. Filters are autoclavable at 121 °C and 1,1 bar for 30 min. High-quality Micropur syringe filters from manufacturer Altmann Analytik are made in Germany, with a certificate available on request. They are intended for aqueous, polar, hydrophilic and medium-polar samples with low particle load, including preparation for UHPLC, core-shell and HPLC columns packed with fine particles. Supplied in packs of 100 pieces for routine laboratory filtration.

This article is part of Syringe filters, in Filtration.

Questions about Syringe Filter, Micropur, RC, 15 mm, 0,20 µm, PP housing

What is this article?

Syringe Filter, Micropur, RC, 15 mm, 0,20 µm, PP housing is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Altmann Analytik for laboratory use. It sits in Syringe filters, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

A syringe filter is a membrane in a plastic housing on a Luer fitting. Pore size, membrane polymer and diameter are the three choices. 0.2 µm is the sterilising and the HPLC-particle cut. 0.45 µm is the coarser clarification. Aqueous and solvent-resistant membranes are different polymers.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
