Description

PES membrane discs with a 100.000 MWCO rating and 47 mm diameter are designed for laboratory ultrafiltration and diafiltration of larger macromolecules. Polyethersulfone membrane discs enable concentration and protein removal under ultrafiltration (UF), buffer exchange and desalting in diafiltration (DF), and electroultrafiltration (EUF). They are compatible with traditional and legacy stirred cells and recommended for custom applications involving most macromolecules. Supplied as a pack of 10 pieces from manufacturer Sartorius, the 47 mm discs suit compact stirred-cell formats used in research and development. The higher 100.000 MWCO class is appropriate when retention of larger species or faster permeate flow for smaller solutes is required. Typical laboratory uses include protein concentration, buffer exchange, and desalting steps in sample preparation. Disc geometry supports straightforward installation in matching holders, giving flexible options for UF and DF workflows where a defined molecular-weight cut-off is needed for macromolecular separations.

This article is part of Ultrafiltration & concentrators, in Filtration.

Questions about Ultrafilter, 100kDa PES, 63mm, 10pc

What is this article?

Ultrafilter, 100kDa PES, 63mm, 10pc is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Sartorius for laboratory use. It sits in Ultrafiltration & concentrators, inside Filtration, in Lab consumables.

An ultrafiltration device holds back macromolecules above a stated molecular-weight cutoff and passes salts and water. It concentrates a protein or exchanges its buffer. The cutoff, the volume and whether it is a centrifugal device or a stirred cell are the specification. A 0.2 µm syringe filter does not do this.

Filtration holds back what is larger than the pores and lets the rest through. Paper is the ordinary laboratory filter. A membrane has a stated pore size and a polymer that must survive the solvent. A syringe filter is that membrane in a housing on a syringe. Glass fibre takes a higher dirt load. Ultrafiltration holds back macromolecules and passes salts. The pore size, the chemical compatibility and the volume are the three choices. Laboratory apparatus around filtration is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
