Description

Universal Waste Hub JAN, S60/61 is a laboratory waste-collection hub supplied as one set with a funnel, an exhaust air filter and a fill level indicator. It uses the S60/61 container thread so the hub can be fitted to matching waste bottles or canisters in laboratory disposal. The funnel provides the filling opening through which liquid laboratory waste is transferred into the connected vessel. The exhaust air filter belongs to the same set and is provided for exhaust air when liquid is added to the container. A fill level indicator is included as well, so the operator can see how full the waste container has become during collection. The complete assembly weighs 0,570 kg and is packed as a single set, with funnel, filter and indicator intended for installation on an S60/61 neck. This Universal Waste Hub JAN from manufacturer S.C.A.T therefore groups filling, exhaust-air filtration and level indication for S60/61 laboratory waste containers. Occupational safety teams can install the set on a compatible S60/61 vessel and use the funnel, filter and indicator together.

This article is part of Waste containers & canisters, in Waste disposal.

Questions about Universal Waste Hub JAN, S60/61

What is this article?

Universal Waste Hub JAN, S60/61 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Carl Roth for laboratory use. It sits in Waste containers & canisters, inside Waste disposal, in Lab safety equipment.

A waste container is chosen by the waste: a wide-mouth jar for solid contaminated waste, a can for solvent, a carboy for aqueous waste. The material has to survive the waste, and the closure has to be the one the waste contractor accepts. Volume and neck are the practical specification.

Laboratory waste is sorted before it is carried away. A solvent waste can has a cap and often a funnel that limits vapour. A sharps container is rigid and closable. An autoclave bag is for material that will be sterilised before it is ordinary waste. The container has to survive the chemical that goes into it. A bag that dissolves is not a container. Classification of the chemicals is on ECHA. Transport of dangerous goods is the UNECE framework. Workplace practice is EU-OSHA.
