Description

Large cuvette type 700-OG is a precision spectroscopy cell made from selected optical glass for photometric work from the near-ultraviolet into the near-infrared. It offers a 10 mm path length, a nominal fill volume of 0,02 l and is supplied with a matching glass lid. The stated wavelength range extends from 360 nm to 2500 nm. Hellma large cuvettes of this series are manufactured entirely in Germany and are thermally bonded rather than cemented, which improves resistance to temperature and chemicals and helps prevent leakage. Selected optical glass provides transmission greater than 80 %, supporting accurate, reproducible absorbance readings. Chamfered edges make handling safer and more comfortable while reducing the chance of edge chipping. Path-length accuracy and parallelism are tightly controlled so measurement results remain consistent from cell to cell. The cuvettes can be cleaned and reused, offering a long-service alternative for routine laboratory spectroscopy. Production follows EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 quality and environmental management standards for optical laboratory cells.

Questions about large cells, 700

What is this article?

large cells, 700 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hellma (IDL) for laboratory use. It sits in Cuvettes, in Labware.

A cuvette is an optical cell. The spectrophotometer or photometer sends a beam through a defined path length, usually 10 mm, and the absorbance is read from that path. Glass is for the visible range. Quartz or a UV-grade plastic is required below about 320 nm, because ordinary glass absorbs there. The path length and the wavelength window are the two numbers that choose the cell. The optical methods that use it sit with NIST and the BIPM. Laboratory ware is indexed under ISO laboratory apparatus.
