Description
The b.safe Waste Cap B83 is a laboratory screw cap for B83 threads, intended for safe collection of solvent waste from analytical systems. The outer cap is made of polyethylene (PE) and holds a freely rotatable PTFE insert, so tubing and capillaries remain free of twist when the container is turned. Four UNF 1/4" PFA fittings accommodate capillaries with outer diameters of 1,6 mm, 2,2 mm or 3,2 mm; the supply includes four green fittings for 1,6 mm, four violet for 2,2 mm, four yellow for 3,2 mm and three milky-white PFA blind fittings to close unused ports. One NPT 1/8" stepped hose olive connects tubing with an inner diameter of 5,5–8,0 mm. A GL14 thread provides a mounting point for a b.safe exhaust filter (filter not included). With four capillary ports plus hose and filter connections, the cap supports multi-line HPLC and laboratory waste setups. This unit from manufacturer Bohlender is supplied as a single piece for B83-necked containers in routine laboratory waste management.
This article is part of HPLC fittings, tubing & inline filters, in HPLC columns & accessories.

Questions about b.safe Waste Cap B83, 4x UNF1/4'', 1x GL14, 1x NPT1/8'' Cap B83 made of PE,
What is this article?
b.safe Waste Cap B83, 4x UNF1/4'', 1x GL14, 1x NPT1/8'' Cap B83 made of PE, is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Bohlender for laboratory use. It sits in HPLC fittings, tubing & inline filters, inside HPLC columns & accessories, in Chromatography equipment.
HPLC fittings and tubing are numbered by bore. A wide bore after the column broadens the peaks. Finger-tight and wrench fittings, and stainless against PEEK, are different pressure ratings. An inline filter is the last screen before the column, and it clogs on purpose so the column does not.
An HPLC column is a tube packed, or coated, with a stationary phase. The sample is carried through it by a liquid, and the compounds leave at different times. The phase, the particle size, the length and the internal diameter decide the separation. A guard column is a short sacrificial piece in front of the analytical column. Fittings and tubing have a bore that either preserves the peak or smears it. Compound names follow IUPAC. Data are on PubChem. Method grades often cite the European Pharmacopoeia or USP.
