Description

Cover glasses for microscopy 20x20 mm, No. 1,5 are precision coverslips made from chemically resistant borosilicate glass D 263® M of the first hydrolytic class. Measuring 20 mm in width and 20 mm in depth, they are intended for microscopy applications in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/746 for in-vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDR). Each batch carries the CE mark together with a batch number that provides comprehensive information and full traceability. The glasses are packed 200 pieces per hinged-lid box and 2,000 pieces per outer carton; a bulk pack of 50,000 pieces is also available for high-throughput laboratories. Produced from borosilicate glass 3.3 by manufacturer Marienfeld, these cover glasses combine chemical durability with the optical clarity required for routine and specialised light microscopy. They support reliable sample covering in clinical diagnostics, research and quality-control workflows where consistent performance and regulatory conformity are essential.

Questions about Microscope cover glasses 20x20 mm, No. 1.5

What is this article?

Microscope cover glasses 20x20 mm, No. 1.5 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Marienfeld for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope slides & cover glasses, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

A slide is the glass a specimen sits on. A cover glass is the thin sheet over it, of a thickness the objective was designed for. A cover glass of the wrong thickness softens the image. Charged and plain slides hold sections differently.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
