Description

Microscope slides UniMark® yellow with ground edges provide a yellow marking field on glass slides sized approximately 76 × 26 × 1 mm. The 90° ground edges facilitate safe handling during specimen preparation and coverslipping. Intended for use under EU Regulation 2017/746 for in-vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDR), each slide set is CE-marked and carries a recommended use-by date plus batch number for complete information and traceability. From manufacturer Marienfeld, the slides are packed in boxes of 50 pieces, with 2,500 pieces per outer carton; the outer carton is additionally shrink-wrapped in a waterproof aluminium bag for enhanced protection during storage and transport. The yellow writing area accepts standard laboratory pens and remains clearly visible after routine staining. These UniMark® slides are suitable for histology, cytology and general microscopy where defined dimensions, ground edges and documented batch control support reproducible laboratory practice and regulatory compliance.

This article is part of Microscope slides & cover glasses, in Microscopy & histology.

Questions about Microscope slides UniMark® yellow, ground edges

What is this article?

Microscope slides UniMark® yellow, ground edges is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Marienfeld for laboratory use. It sits in Microscope slides & cover glasses, inside Microscopy & histology, in Lab instruments.

A slide is the glass a specimen sits on. A cover glass is the thin sheet over it, of a thickness the objective was designed for. A cover glass of the wrong thickness softens the image. Charged and plain slides hold sections differently.

A light microscope forms an image with glass lenses and transmitted or reflected light. A stereo microscope is the lower-magnification instrument for dissecting and for looking at a surface. Fluorescence needs a light source and filters matched to the dye. Histology is the preparation that makes a tissue readable: fixation, a cassette, a section, a stain. The objective's magnification and numerical aperture decide the resolution. The slide and the cover glass decide whether the section sits in the focal plane. Stains and dyes as substances are identified on PubChem. Papers on the methods are on PubMed.
