Description
T-SP-6 T spindle 6 is an individual T-bar spindle intended for viscosity testing of non-flowing samples on compatible IKA systems. Operation requires the motorized HELISTAND stand together with the corresponding nut and coupling; the spindle cannot be used alone. The full T-SP-SET including nut and coupling forms part of the HELISTAND Set and all ROTAVISC HELI Packages from manufacturer IKA. When paired with HELISTAND, T-spindles excel at measuring creams, pastes, gelatine and similar structured materials that do not flow under gravity. Offered as one piece, the T-SP-6 provides a practical spare or additional spindle for laboratories already equipped with HELISTAND or ROTAVISC HELI packages. The T-shaped geometry enables stable immersion and reproducible readings in highly viscous or semi-solid matrices. Cosmetics, food technology and pharmaceutical formulation labs commonly rely on this accessory for routine rotational viscometry of non-Newtonian, non-flowing products. Net weight is 0,072 kg, supporting straightforward handling and integration into existing measurement setups.
This article is part of Viscometers, in Density & viscosity measurement.

Questions about T-SP-6, T spindle 6
What is this article?
T-SP-6, T spindle 6 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Viscometers, inside Density & viscosity measurement, in Lab instruments.
A capillary viscometer times the flow of a liquid through a tube. A rotational viscometer twists a spindle in the liquid. Both need a stated temperature. Kinematic and dynamic viscosity are different numbers. The capillary size has to put the flow time in the range the method allows.
Density is mass divided by volume. A hydrometer floats at a depth that depends on the density of the liquid. A pycnometer is a vessel of known volume that is weighed full. Viscosity is the resistance to flow. A capillary viscometer times how long a volume takes to fall through a tube. Both measurements need a stated temperature, because liquids change density and viscosity as they warm. The units trace to the BIPM and to NIST.
