Description
RCT basic Synthesis Solution 500 is a complete magnetic stirrer with heating system for safe synthesis in 500 ml round-bottom flasks. Using synthesis blocks markedly reduces the hazard potential compared with oil baths and simplifies handling and cleaning of the flasks, which can also lower operating costs. All components required for synthesis operation are included: a flask carrier for 500 ml round-bottom flasks, a stand rod, two cross sleeves, a universal clamp for secure flask fixation, a support rod for positioning the temperature sensor, and elliptical magnetic stirring bars that match the flask geometry. The synthesis attachment is manufactured from solid anodised aluminium and withstands temperatures up to 300 °C. Optionally, a reflux condenser can be mounted securely with an additional stand rod attached to the second receptacle on the RCT basic. This ready-to-use system solution from manufacturer IKA is intended for laboratories that need controlled heating and stirring for round-bottom flask synthesis without oil-bath setups, combining the magnetic stirrer platform with dedicated flask support and stirring accessories in one package.
This article is part of Magnetic stirrers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about RCT basic Synthesis Solution 500, Magnetic stirrer with heating
What is this article?
RCT basic Synthesis Solution 500, Magnetic stirrer with heating is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Magnetic stirrers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A magnetic stirrer is the motor and the plate under the flask. Many also heat. The stirring capacity is the litres of a water-like liquid it can turn, and a viscous liquid defeats a rating that was measured on water.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
Which category should I open next?
