Description

Portable meter for pH/°C incl. probe HI12963 is a compact waterproof handheld instrument for simultaneous pH and temperature determination. The supplied HI12963 titanium-body electrode integrates an amplifier that shields against external interference and supports high measuring accuracy, while the built-in temperature sensor provides automatic temperature compensation from -5 to 105 °C. Part of the modern HI99xxxx series from manufacturer Hanna Instruments, the meter uses application-specific electrodes with a Quick-DIN connector that keeps the assembly fully water- and dust-tight. Operation is intentionally simple: only two keys are required to adjust settings, select the measuring range and choose calibration points. A multilevel LCD shows essential readings at a glance, the IP67-rated housing protects the electronics in demanding environments, and on-screen electrode condition status indicates when replacement is advisable. The instrument is supplied ready for use with the HI12963 Quick-DIN probe (1 m cable), starter calibration solutions, cleaning solution, batteries, instruction manual and quality certificate in a robust carrying case. pH covers -2,00 to 16,00 (resolution 0,01; accuracy ±0,02); temperature spans -5,0 to 105,0 °C.

Questions about Waterproof Portable pH/Temperature Meter

What is this article?

Waterproof Portable pH/Temperature Meter is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Hanna Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in pH electrodes & sensors, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Lab instruments.

A pH electrode is a glass membrane and a reference. It is a consumable: the glass ages, the junction clogs, and the reading drifts. A refillable electrode and a gel electrode differ in how they are maintained. The connector has to match the meter. The electrode, not the meter, is usually what is wrong.

A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
