Description

Adapter KERN KUP-03 is a KERN Universal Port interface adapter with cable designed for laboratory balance connectivity. Equipped with a USB device interface and a cable length of 1,5 m, it supports exchange of weighing data and control commands between the balance and a network, PC, mobile end device, printer or comparable peripheral. Through the KUP platform, balances can communicate via RS-232, USB device, Ethernet, Bluetooth and WLAN, helping integrate KERN instruments into manufacturing or process chains for a continuous workflow. Installation follows a plug-and-play approach: the adapter is simply plugged onto the DB-15 connector built into the instrument, so interfaces can be retrofitted or exchanged without opening the balance housing or carrying out complicated assembly. Supplied as one piece from manufacturer Kern, the solution offers high flexibility at limited extra cost. Net weight is 0,15 kg and gross weight 0,30 kg, with compact packaging suitable for laboratory stock. A practical accessory choice wherever USB-based data transfer is preferred for routine weighing and process documentation.

Questions about Adapter KERN KUP-03

What is this article?

Adapter KERN KUP-03 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes KERN for laboratory use. It sits in Balance accessories, calibration & certificates, inside Balances & scales, in Instruments de laboratoire.

These are the draft shields, the pans, the ionisers, the printers and the calibration certificates that belong to a balance. A certificate states the errors found at stated loads. It does not make a different balance correct.

A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
