Description

AR 19 anchor stirrer (PTFE) is a laboratory impeller developed for highly viscous media where thorough mixing must reach the vessel walls. The anchor geometry and 60 mm blade width enable effective agitation right to the vessel periphery. It is ideally suited to vessels with a diameter of 67 mm, a bottom clearance of 2 mm, a fill height of 67 mm and a working volume of approximately 200 ml. The stirrer consists of a PTFE blade and a PTFE-coated stainless-steel shaft; the steel core provides stability and secure mounting in the laboratory stirrer. Clamping diameter is 6,5 mm, while the thick-walled PTFE-jacketed shaft measures 8 mm. The anti-adhesive surface facilitates cleaning and permits use up to 250 °C. This robust PTFE construction from manufacturer Heidolph delivers dependable performance for viscous mixing tasks in laboratory vessels of matching geometry.

This article is part of Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, in Stirring, shaking & mixing.

Questions about AR 19 Anchor-Type Impeller (PTFE)

What is this article?

AR 19 Anchor-Type Impeller (PTFE) is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Heidolph for laboratory use. It sits in Stirring shafts, propellers & impellers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Instruments de laboratoire.

A shaft, a propeller or an impeller is the wetted end of an overhead stirrer. The diameter and the pitch decide whether the liquid turns over. The material, stainless steel or PTFE, decides what the liquid may be. The chuck size has to match the stirrer.

Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
