Description
EC850 portable conductivity/TDS meter is a compact, easy-to-operate handheld instrument for determining conductivity (EC), TDS and temperature. A protective silicone sleeve and IP57 water- and dust-tight housing make it especially suitable for field use, including harsh environments. The supplied 2301T-S conductivity electrode employs BPB (Brush-resistant Platinum Black) technology and covers a wide measuring range of 0 to 200 mS/cm; its integrated temperature sensor supports automatic temperature compensation (ATC). Rapid 1- to 3-point calibration, self-diagnosis and a large backlit LCD that simultaneously shows conductivity and temperature simplify routine work, while a fold-out stand enables comfortable benchtop operation. The BNC interface remains compatible with LabSen®-series electrodes for broader applications. Measuring 88×170×33 mm and weighing 313 g (1,3 kg with case), the complete kit from manufacturer Apera Instruments includes the meter, 2301T-S electrode, calibration solutions (84 μS/cm; 1413 μS/cm; 12,88 mS/cm, 50 ml each), screwdriver, operating manual and carrying case. Power is supplied by three AA batteries. Conductivity accuracy is ±1,0 % F.S. ±1 digit; temperature range is 0 to 100 °C.

Questions about EC850 Portable Conductivity/TDS Meter Kit
What is this article?
EC850 Portable Conductivity/TDS Meter Kit is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes APERA Instruments for laboratory use. It sits in Conductivity meters & cells, inside pH & electrochemistry, in Instruments de précision.
A conductivity meter and its cell measure how well a solution carries current. The cell constant is the geometry that converts conductance to conductivity, and it is calibrated with a standard. Temperature compensation matters because conductivity rises with temperature.
A pH meter is a voltmeter on a glass electrode. The voltage tracks hydrogen-ion activity, and the electrode is converted to pH only after it is adjusted with buffers of known value. Conductivity measures how well a solution carries a current, which for dilute salts tracks concentration. Dissolved oxygen and titration are further electrodes on the same idea: a sensor, a standard, and a reading that is only as fresh as the calibration. Buffer values and chemical identity sit on PubChem. Accreditation of the calibration laboratory is the field of BELAC and EURAMET.
