Description

Digital hand force gauge KERN MAP 80K1 is a digital instrument for measuring hand closing force, widely used in rehabilitation treatments after accidents. Especially suitable for rehabilitation centres, it enables medical personnel to check and train patients’ hand fitness via four measuring modes: real-time mode for immediate current force, peak-value mode for maximum grip force, average mode for mean force from two grips, and count mode for the number of presses above a defined force limit. Reduced hand strength can be identified and related, among other factors, to mortality risk in older adults or to malnutrition during chemotherapy and comparable conditions. Non-slip rubber grips provide secure, comfortable handling, while AUTO-OFF after 1 min protects battery life and units can be switched between kg and lb. Interchangeable springs with different hardness grades (additional spring sets included) allow quick capacity changes, making the gauge universally applicable for children, seniors and sports-medicine patients. A robust case measuring 350×265×85 mm (W×D×H) is included as standard for safe transport and storage of the extra spring sets, supplied by manufacturer Kern. Pack size is 1 pc with a net weight of 0,35 kg.

This article is part of Hygrometers & humidity meters, in Temperature measurement.

Questions about Digital Hand Grip Dynamometer KERN MAP, 80K1

What is this article?

Digital Hand Grip Dynamometer KERN MAP, 80K1 is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes KERN for laboratory use. It sits in Hygrometers & humidity meters, inside Temperature measurement, in Instruments de laboratoire.

A hygrometer measures the water in the air, as relative humidity or as dew point. It is the instrument for a desiccator room, a stability chamber or a store. The sensor drifts, and the calibration is part of believing the number.

A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
