Description
Digital hand force gauge KERN MAP 80K1S is a hand-grip dynamometer intended for determining hand closing force, for instance in post-accident rehabilitation. It is especially suited to rehabilitation centres, supporting medical staff with four measuring modes that assess hand fitness and enable controlled training: real-time mode shows current force at once, peak-value mode records maximum grip force, average mode computes mean force from two grips, and count mode counts presses exceeding a predefined force threshold. The device helps reveal reduced hand strength associated with mortality risk in ageing individuals or malnutrition during chemotherapy and similar therapies. Safe, comfortable use is provided by non-slip rubber grips, AUTO-OFF after 1 min for battery conservation, and switchable units between kg and lb. This special children’s version features a reduced grip depth for ergonomic holding by small hands. Interchangeable springs of varying hardness (additional sets included) permit rapid capacity adjustment for diverse patient groups including children, seniors and sports medicine. A sturdy case 350×265×85 mm (W×D×H) from manufacturer Kern is supplied as standard for transport and storage of the spring sets. Pack size: 1 pc; net weight 0,35 kg.

Questions about Digital Hand Grip Dynamometer KERN MAP, 80K1S
What is this article?
Digital Hand Grip Dynamometer KERN MAP, 80K1S is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes KERN for laboratory use. It sits in Hygrometers & humidity meters, inside Temperature measurement, in Instruments de laboratoire.
A hygrometer measures the water in the air, as relative humidity or as dew point. It is the instrument for a desiccator room, a stability chamber or a store. The sensor drifts, and the calibration is part of believing the number.
A thermometer reports a temperature. A liquid-in-glass thermometer is a calibrated column. A digital thermometer is a sensor and a display, and the sensor, not the display, is what is calibrated. An infrared thermometer reads a surface and depends on emissivity. A data logger stores the reading over time. Without a stated uncertainty and a calibration point, the number is only an indication. The scale is maintained by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET. Accreditation is BELAC.
