Description
Evaluation device KERN KFB-TM is a display and control unit for weighing systems, designed for clear readout and flexible process integration. Large, comfortably readable digits support everyday laboratory and industrial weighing tasks. An optional analogue output enables control of plant equipment such as PLC systems. The integrated CAL adjustment programme allows accuracy to be set, while a summing function and piece-counting mode with selectable reference quantities of 10, 20, 50, 100 or 200 pieces extend application range. Under unstable weighing conditions, the hold function calculates a stable value by averaging. The built-in KERN Communication Protocol (KCP) from manufacturer Kern supports connection to merchandise management or ERP systems. An RS-232 data interface is fitted as standard. EU type approval is included. A table stand for the evaluation device and a wall bracket for wall mounting are supplied as standard. Pack size is 1 pc; net weight is 1,2 kg and gross weight 1,8 kg. Suitable as scale accessory for professional weighing setups requiring reliable display, counting and data communication.
This article is part of Balance accessories, calibration & certificates, in Balances & scales.

Questions about Display Devices KERN KFB-TM
What is this article?
Display Devices KERN KFB-TM is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes KERN for laboratory use. It sits in Balance accessories, calibration & certificates, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.
These are the draft shields, the pans, the ionisers, the printers and the calibration certificates that belong to a balance. A certificate states the errors found at stated loads. It does not make a different balance correct.
A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
