Description
FC1200S Chiller is a recirculating cooler for large-volume applications that need stronger pump performance within the FC series. Integrated heating widens the working temperature range, while temperature constancy of ±0,2 °C supports precise thermal control. The stainless-steel bath vessel and immersion pump provide dependable circulation; supply and return temperatures are adjustable in relation to each other (DBGM). Front filling is straightforward, with circulation activated during filling, and a bright MULTI-DISPLAY (LED) shows actual and setpoint values. Over- and undertemperature warnings with interval signal tone, freeze protection, dry-running protection, a foil keypad and front sight-glass level indication aid safe routine use. Self-test, sensor monitoring, pump-motor and compressor protection plus all-pole shutdown with acoustic alarm further secure operation. A removable ventilation grille eases dust removal, and an RS232 interface allows PC connection. This model from manufacturer Julabo includes 1,2 kW integrated heating. Delivery includes two hose olives each for 8 and 12 mm i.d. tubing (M16x1 external pump threads). Operating range is −15 °C to 80 °C; cooling capacity is stated to DIN 12876 at 20 °C ambient and may vary with the tempering fluid.
This article is part of Circulators, chillers & thermostats, in Heating, drying & cooling.

Questions about FC1200S Recirculating cooler
What is this article?
FC1200S Recirculating cooler is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Julabo for laboratory use. It sits in Circulators, chillers & thermostats, inside Heating, drying & cooling, in Lab instruments.
A circulator or thermostat holds a bath liquid at a set temperature and pumps it through a jacket. A chiller is the same idea aimed below ambient. The temperature range, the cooling power and the pump flow are the three numbers. The fluid has to match the range.
Temperature equipment either holds a set point or drives a sample toward one. An oven dries. A furnace reaches the temperatures of ashing and melting. A bath surrounds a vessel with water or oil. A circulator moves that fluid. An incubator holds the mild warmth of a culture. An autoclave uses steam under pressure to sterilise. The number that matters is the temperature the article actually reaches, not the number painted on the dial. Temperature is part of the international system kept by the BIPM and compared by EURAMET.
