Laboratory fume hood probe, digital and wired, is a hot-wire sensor for determining flow velocity, volume flow and air temperature with a compatible testo multifunction measuring instrument (ordered separately). It is especially suited to low flow velocities up to +5 m/s. Verification of laboratory fume hoods is critical for personnel safety when handling hazardous substances, helping protect against explosions as well as dangerous gases and vapours. In line with DIN EN 14175-3/-4, the probe measures inflow velocity and exhaust volume flow so correct installation and on-site functionality can be confirmed. A permanently attached cable links the probe to the measuring instrument. The clearly structured volume-flow menu supports intuitive operation, while convenient entry of duct cross-section dimensions and geometry enables exact volume-flow calculation. Time and point averaging, average volume flow, the current reading and min/max values are shown on the instrument. Integrated absolute-pressure measurement compensates air density for reliable results. With this digital probe from manufacturer Testo, measurement uncertainty of the instrument is eliminated; only the probe is sent for calibration so the meter stays in continuous use.
