Nalgene™ rectangular autoclavable PPCO carboy with spigot is a 9 l (2,4 gal.) laboratory container designed for storing and dispensing media, solutions and sterile water. The space-saving rectangular form and wide opening with 86 mm neck inner diameter enable easy filling and cleaning, while the integrated spigot supports controlled dispensing. Constructed from polypropylene copolymer (PPCO) in opaque white, the carboy measures 216 × 146 × 356 mm and reaches 361 mm height with the polypropylene 100 mm closure. Fully autoclavable, this vessel from Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics withstands steam sterilisation cycles for reusable sterile workflows. Supplied as one piece in cases of six, it suits media preparation and general laboratory fluid handling. The molded-in spigot boss ensures secure spigot mounting, and the robust PPCO material provides dependable performance for aqueous solutions under repeated autoclaving conditions.

Questions about Nalgene™ Polypropylene, Rectangular Carboy with Spigot

What is this article?

Nalgene™ Polypropylene, Rectangular Carboy with Spigot is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Thermo Scientific - Laboratory Plastics for laboratory use. It sits in Canisters & jerrycans, inside Bottles & containers, in Labware.

A canister or jerrycan holds litres, not millilitres, and it is shaped to be carried and to pour. The material has to survive the liquid for the whole time the can sits in the store.

A laboratory bottle is a closed container with a stated volume and a neck that takes a cap, a stopper or a dispenser. Borosilicate glass is the choice when the liquid is a solvent, or when the bottle will be heated or autoclaved. Polyethylene and polypropylene are the choice when the bottle must not shatter, or when hydrofluoric acid would attack glass. A narrow mouth pours. A wide mouth is for powders and for reaching the bottom. Laboratory ware of this kind is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Traceable volume sits with the BIPM and NIST Physical Measurement.
