Description
Precision balance AX2202/E is an Adventurer™ Precision laboratory balance with a maximum capacity of 2,2 kg and readability of 0,01 g (0,00001 kg). It features external adjustment, a typical minimum weight (USP, 0,1%) of 20 g and a full-resolution single-range weighing platform measuring 175 × 195 mm. Applications include weighing in 17 units plus one custom unit, parts counting, percent weighing, checkweighing, dynamic weighing, accumulation and statistics, formulation, density determination and display-hold. The colour 109 mm VGA touchscreen provides adjustable brightness for clear operation. Interfaces comprise RS232, USB host and USB device, supporting GLP/GMP data output with real-time clock; results can be saved directly to a USB stick. The robust construction from manufacturer Ohaus combines a metal housing with ABS top cover, stainless-steel pan, three-door glass draft shield with top-mounted side doors and upper sliding door, illuminated level bubble, underfloor weighing hook, security loop and full protective cover. Selectable environmental filters, automatic taring, software lockout, customisable interface and print options, user and project IDs plus nine operating languages make this an intuitive balance for varied laboratory demands.

Questions about Precision Balance AX2202/E
What is this article?
Precision Balance AX2202/E is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Ohaus for laboratory use. It sits in Precision balances, inside Balances & scales, in Lab instruments.
A precision balance reads more coarsely than an analytical balance, often 1 mg or 10 mg, and it takes a heavier pan load. It is the balance for preparing bulk reagents. Draft, level and a warm-up still move the last digit.
A balance compares a mass with a standard. An analytical balance reads to 0.1 mg or finer and needs a draft shield and a stable bench. A precision balance is coarser and faster. A platform scale takes a heavier load. The reading is only as good as the calibration chain back to the kilogram, which is why test weights and a certificate exist. A moisture analyser is a balance with a heater: it records the loss of mass as water leaves. The unit of mass is kept by the BIPM, compared across Europe by EURAMET, and accredited by BELAC. NIST publishes the same measurement foundations.
