Description

PCB Solution ROTI®Star is a multi-congener polychlorinated biphenyl reference solution containing seven PCBs at 10 µg/ml in isooctane. The mixture includes PCB 28, PCB 52, PCB 101, PCB 138, PCB 153, PCB 180 and PCB 209, extending coverage to the fully chlorinated congener for broader calibration in environmental and residue analysis. Key physical properties are a density of 0,69 g/cm³, a flash point of −12 °C and a boiling point of 99,2 °C, reflecting the isooctane matrix used as solvent. Supplied as 1 ml in a glass ampoule, the unit supports accurate dispensing for gas-chromatographic calibration, spiking and system suitability checks. The solution carries UN number 1262 and is intended for controlled laboratory handling in chromatography suites. This seven-PCB ROTI®Star preparation from manufacturer Carl ROTH is aimed at laboratories performing GC-based environmental analysis that need a defined isooctane standard spanning common indicator congeners through PCB 209 for method development, routine quantification and quality assurance.

This article is part of ICP, AAS & ion standards, in Analytical standards & reference materials.

Questions about PCB Solution ROTI®Star, 7 PCBs 10 µg/ml in isooctane, 1 ml, glass ampoule

What is this article?

PCB Solution ROTI®Star, 7 PCBs 10 µg/ml in isooctane, 1 ml, glass ampoule is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes Carl Roth for laboratory use. It sits in ICP, AAS & ion standards, inside Analytical standards & reference materials, in Lab chemicals.

An ICP, AAS or ion standard is a solution of a stated element or ion at a stated concentration, with an uncertainty. It is the calibration point of a spectrometer or an electrode. The matrix, often dilute acid, has to match the method. A standard past its expiry is not that concentration.

A reference material is the article against which another result is compared. Its value is stated, and the uncertainty of that value is part of the product. An ICP or ion standard is a solution of known concentration. A volumetric standard is for titration. A chromatography standard is the peak you match. The grade names, including pharmacopoeia and ASTM, say which impurities were limited. Identity is checked on PubChem. Names follow IUPAC. Medicinal grades follow the European Pharmacopoeia and USP.
