Description
UTTD control IVD Solution is a disperser system built around the ULTRA-TURRAX® Tube Drive P control for microbiological and molecular analysis of patient samples. Homogeneous comminution and disruption of tissue, cartilage and bone specimens is a critical pre-analytical step before culture or molecular testing. The powerful universal drive works with patented single-use vessels that are single- or double-sterile packed and pre-filled with 5 ml of 0,90 % saline. Ten stainless-steel balls inside each tube are driven by tumbling motion at up to 3000 rpm to shred the sample or detach tissue from bone so that microorganisms pass into the liquid phase. Samples can be introduced aseptically in the operating theatre; sealed transport then proceeds without cross-contamination risk. In the laboratory the tube is mounted directly on the drive for processing, and aliquots can be withdrawn through the pierceable membrane lid. The control variant stores time and speed programmes and offers reverse rotation for demanding matrices; PC software enables documentation and automated starts. Included BMT-20-S-IVD disposable tubes (20 ml, working range 5–15 ml) are IVD devices under Directive 98/79/EC, manufactured to ISO 13485:2016 and approved for EU use. Maximum processing time per tube is 1 minute; longer runs must be validated by the user. The complete solution is supplied by IKA as one package unit.

Questions about UTTD control IVD Solution, Disperser
What is this article?
UTTD control IVD Solution, Disperser is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Homogenisers & dispersers, inside Stirring, shaking & mixing, in Lab instruments.
A homogeniser or disperser uses a rotor inside a stator to tear a sample and disperse it. Tip diameter and speed decide the particle size. A generator for 2 mL and a generator for 1 L are different tools on, sometimes, the same drive.
Stirring keeps a mixture uniform or helps a solid dissolve. A magnetic stirrer spins a bar inside a closed vessel. An overhead stirrer drives a shaft when the liquid is viscous or the volume is large. A vortex mixer agitates a tube. A shaker moves a whole rack or a plate. The shape of the impeller and the speed decide whether the liquid turns over or merely spins. The vessels being stirred are indexed under ISO laboratory glassware.
