Description
VACSTAR control is a dry 4-chamber diaphragm vacuum pump for laboratory separating, filtering and transfer tasks. It combines high suction performance of 22 l/min at a minimum of 2 mbar with chemical resistance and low maintenance demand, supporting reliable everyday vacuum work. The control configuration integrates a vacuum controller with a removable wireless display (WiCo), making it especially suitable when a matched 1:1 process solution is required. Operating modes are selected through the intuitive operator menu or the remote control and cover automatic operation, manual control, pumping, as well as evacuate and clean functions, so the workflow can be adapted to the application. For additional protection of users and the laboratory environment, the optional VSE 1 vacuum safety emission condenser is recommended; it helps prevent solvent vapours from being released into room air and is available as an accessory. This diaphragm vacuum pump from manufacturer IKA is supplied as one complete unit with a net weight of 21,000 kg and is intended for use on vacuum pump stands and related laboratory setups where controlled, dry vacuum generation is needed.
This article is part of Vacuum pumps, in Pumps, vacuum & evaporation.

Questions about VACSTAR control, Membrane vacuum pump
What is this article?
VACSTAR control, Membrane vacuum pump is the article on this page. Luminix Health distributes IKA for laboratory use. It sits in Vacuum pumps, inside Pumps, vacuum & evaporation, in Lab instruments.
A laboratory vacuum pump lowers pressure for filtration or evaporation. A diaphragm pump tolerates solvent vapour better than an oil-sealed rotary vane pump, and it reaches a milder vacuum. The ultimate vacuum and the flow, and whether the wetted path survives the solvent, are the choices.
A vacuum pump lowers the pressure above a liquid so it boils at a lower temperature. That is the point of a rotary evaporator: solvent leaves a sample without cooking it. A diaphragm pump or a rotary-vane pump is chosen by the vacuum it reaches and by whether solvent vapour will destroy it. A peristaltic pump moves liquid by squeezing a tube, so the liquid touches only the tube. A barrel pump transfers a larger volume from a drum. The glassware on the evaporator is indexed under ISO laboratory glassware. Solvent identity is on PubChem.
